6 Things to Salivate Over This Weekend

No one can say that Beijing is a boring city. We are only into the third month of the year and we already feel that we could easily fill a "What Happened in 2014" article. So grab some respite from the action this weekend and enjoy some great food and drink. Take a look at the great events we've picked out below.

Fri | New World, Old World?

New world or old world? That is the question. Do you have a preference? Can you tell the difference? Do you even know what it means? Wine lovers will enjoy an interesting evening comparing and contrasting wines from across the globe at Factory on Friday night. They are even providing some food to go with it. RMB200.

Fri | Swiss Dinner

You don't have to have a Swiss passport or like cuckoo clocks to enjoy SwissCham Beijing's Swiss Traditional Dinner at the Swissotel. Enjoy some fine Swiss cuisine, including Swiss raclette, chocolate, ice cream, Swiss wine and many other delicacies. RMB450

Sat & Sun | All-You-Can-Eat Dim Sum

Every weekend, The Red Chamber offers all-you-can-eat dim sum for only RMB138 (RMB78 for children). The menu features over 30 types of traditional dim sum delights, including steamed shrimp dumplings, barbecue pork buns and siew mai chicken with mushroom.

Sun| Upgraded CRU

CRU's upgraded Sunday brunch has all the best: French oysters, foie gras, black truffles, eight different French cheeses and 10 imported wines. You also get a main course, with choices like Wagyu beef and Boston lobster. RMB688 with free-flow wine and martinis. RMB788 also includes free-flow Perrier Jouet Champagne. Children aged 6-12 are half price, and kids under 6 years old eat free. Prices subject to surcharge.

Sun | Sunday Brunch

Chapter's brunch is getting relaunched, with a Godiva chocolate boutique, French oysters, a French DJ and a new juice and cocktail bar, in addition to the international buffet spread served among the restaurant's bookshelves. RMB438 includes free-flow cocktails, juices and local beer. Add RMB100 for free-flow Champagne and house wines. Prices subject to surcharge.

Mon | Pies, Pies, Pies

We know that this doesn't strictly fall under our "weekend" headline, but we had to tell you about Pie Month. Yes, Pie Month. From Monday March 17 to April 13, take your appetite down to Writers Bar at Raffles Beijing and tuck into an amazing selection of pies. Among the pies available include, chicken and mushroom pie, Yunnan mushroom pot pie, five-spice confit duck plaited pastry pie, and a old favorite - sheppard’s pie. Each of these pastry covered wonders are going for RMB68 (with surcharge).
