Shaw and Magnussen cello piano recital, 7:30-9pm, RMB80-150
Jacob Shaw & David Lau Magnussen will be playing selections from Bloch, Greig, Ali-Zade, de Falla, and Bartok. They have been broadcasted live a number of time on national television reaching 40 million viewers. Go see them this Friday night: 40 Million viewers cannot be wrong.

Treasures of the British Library, 10am-6pm
A special shipment has arrived from the British Library that deserves the attention of book lovers all over the world. Manuscripts from the British Library of classic writers like Shakespeare, Dickens, Brontë, Wordsworth, and even Conan Doyle will be on display at the National Library of China. Go on take a peek before the exhibit closes on June 21.

Mademoiselle et son Orchestre,10pm-1am, Free
Gypsy Jazz band Mademoiselle et son Orchestre will be putting on a show to remember at the Modernista. Albert Palma: Perceived Before Perception, 10am-6:30pm
For the first time in China a selection of Albert Palma’s work will be shown at the Xin Dong Cheng Space for Contemporary Arts. His work explores and pushes the boundaries of what is abstract and what is figurative. Philosophers and writers like Pascal Quignard and Henry Bauchau have praised his work. Perfect for an afternoon of meditation and deep thining.

Paul Andreu: History of a Creator with a Chinese Heart, 11am-5pm
Yishu 8 is hosting Paul Andry’s works from his Parisian studio. He is mostly known as an architect not as an artist, even so the exhibition will shed light on this unknown side of him. If the name sounds familiar, or if it really doesn’t, he designed the National Grand Theater in Beijing. Paul Andry: a man of mystery for all to discover.

Fête de la Musique 2017

Slap bang in the middle of the week is Fête de la Musqiue! This day is all about music being accessible to all.
