The Great Wall Beach Party: Great Walls of Fire

Great DJs spin every weekend in Beijing, but a truly great party requires a spectacular and unique location. The annual Great Wall Beach Party brings marquee DJs Mickey Zhang (techno), Blackie (drum ‘n’ bass) and Patrick Yu (house) to the breathtaking Shanhaiguan Beach, where the Great Wall meets the sea. A night spent thumping your bare feet into the sand to the beats of Beijing’s top DJs is a potent remedy to urban monotony. While the promoters offer free buses to and from Shanhaiguan, we recommend skipping the return trip (a bus full of over-partied passengers? no thanks) and booking a hotel so you can chill in Shanhaiguan the next day. Here are our recommendations for where to look for rooms for under ¥500 per night: - The Haisheng Garden Hotel (335-517-2999) - The Longyuan Hotel (335-518-6188) - The Haiyuan Hotel (335-5181188) DETAILS:
[Tickets for the Great Wall Beach Party are ¥200-250. Great Wall Beach Party, buses meet at Gongti North Gate, Saturday, July 4, 2pm, Tel: 136-812-63981](http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/beijing/events/48258/)
