Liao Pool & Garden Party: Gay Beijing’s Hottest Way to Do Good

Time's running out to join this safe & sexy party

The response to this year’s Liao Pool Party has been almost too hot to handle. At least too hot for some party poopers, who complained and got the original venue to cancel.

But when one door closes, another opens! We’re excited to report that the party is still on, and potentially better than ever.

Liao announces the expansion to a "Pool and Garden Party," at a venue even closer to the city center and open exclusively to Liao guests.

That means more time around the pool and more space to explore, sipping cocktails and chatting up friends (or hot strangers) in between steamy performances by dancers George and Tonny.

But it’s not just smoking hot go-go boys and skimpy swimwear: This party has a mission

Impulse Beijing, the volunteer-run group that’s run HIV prevention events in Beijing for the last two years, is turning our attention to the importance of getting tested:

“Awareness speaks louder than any other form of HIV prevention,” organizer Kevin G. tells us. “Getting tested and knowing your status has always been an issue in the gay community in China.  People tend to be timid … [but] Impulse Beijing integrates HIV prevention advocacy in the pool and garden party, where people may get testing kits and ask questions about safe sex. In the game sessions, Impulse Beijing will also further promote the significance of getting tested regularly.”

It’s basic conditioning: Take something you should do (like getting testing), something you like (like sexy men), and put them together. It’s not a magic bullet, but it helps people feel more comfortable getting tested. And with a test kit in hand, there’s no more excuses.

So grab your trunks or speedos and hurry: Ticket sales end soon for this one of a kind event.

In this sizzling summer, give yourself the chance to cool off with some of Beijing’s hottest men. It’ll do you good.
