U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing yesterday for a three-day state visit with President Xi. The visit is intended to provide opportunities for President Xi Jingping and Trump to exchange views concerning both sides and is expected to yield positive results.
The two country leaders have distinctively different styles. Son of a cultural revolutionary leader, President Xi has spent years in the countryside as a farmer before swiftly rising up in the ranks in the People’s Congress. He’s well-educated, well-read, and well-loved by his people – often described as a “great leader” and a “wise man” whose impact rivals that of Mao.
On the contrary, President Trump’s senior staff has been overheard calling The White House an adult daycare center.
Trump has, on numerous occasions, both criticized China and its leadership as well as called President Xi Jingping a great leader and a friend. It’s already evident that President Trump’s view swing depending on his mood.
We look forward to seeing what this three-day meeting between the self-made billionaire and the career Communist leader will result in.
