We're Going Inside Terminal 3

All eyes will be on the Capital Airport in March as the long-awaited Terminal 3 starts to come online. British Airways will begin diverting to Terminal 3 on Feb 29 (leap day!) while Air China (and pretty much everybody else) will do so on March 26.

Sure it's the single largest airport expansion project the world has ever seen and the fastest ever built (four years from award to completion) and the numbers are just staggering--two passenger terminal with 80 roofed acres nearly a kilometer wide with a larger surface area than all of Heathrow's five terminals combined at a cost of nearly 4 billion dollars. But what really matters is renxinghua, or how well it eases passage from point a to point b (something Beijing city planners are notoriously poor at).

SOOOOO...we are going inside for a sneak peak later on in February. How's the first class lounge look? What kind of restaurants are we looking at? Duty free? How many starbucks outlets per square meter? Anything we forgot? If you have any questions you want answered, let me know and the armchair traveler will look into it!

Check back on Feb 29 for a full report!
