Gettin' Folksy Wit It
(or something)
So... after putting my life on the back burner for the past three weeks (including the book club!) due to a great gig I got choreographing the dancing girls for the new China Doll, I'm only just now getting around to sending out feelers for the text to read for this month.
After the increased interest last month due to the access of the text online (even if the stories weren't all that great) I've decided to try to hunt down some other free eBooks. As the (Gutenberg Project's website)[http://www.gutenberg.org] is blocked in China, I've included a proxy server onto the front of the url below.
The book that I'm looking at is about folk stories in China, a lot of them seem quite interesting (though I haven't done any more than download the book and scan it, ha). It's called A Chinese Wonder Book by Norman Hinsdale Pitman. Mind you, this book could very well be racist claptrap or timeless tales written down in a very old-fashioned way (well, at least that much I know). So... let's take a risk and read some of these stories :)
