Re-Booking :)

Due to popular demand (and the recent availability of the book at a couple bookstores about town) we are going to do another meetup to discuss "Mr Muo's Traveling Couch." We will meet up at the Bookworm in Sanliturn and the Bridge Cafe in Wudaokou, and we're trying to figure out the best time to set up the meeting at Smallville up in Shunyi.

Also, we're looking for the next book that we'd like to read (so as to avoid the problem we had with Muo's availability). Any suggestions? I was thinking about a Pearl S Buck novel, maybe "The Good Earth" (also, its nice because you can buy the book from the Chinese Amazon.com).

ok... that link doesn't seem to be working... (it might be that I was signed in when I looked it up?)

either way, if you go to amazon.cn and type in 'pearl buck' you'll get a couple versions of "The Good Earth"

You can do cash on delivery with joyo (amazon.cn) and they are often same day or next day delivery for free (yay!)

be forewarned... it can be addictive

Hi!

When you say addictive is it like Caffeine.. where I'll get dependent and then once I finish the book I'll have to get more by the same author? Or addictive just like its great I won't be able to put it down, and I'd be interested in reading more... but it wouldn't dominate my thoughts?

ok... so evidently only markdown syntax works for the comments, the link is here (you'll have to cut and paste it)

Oh good, I'm going to look at that link so I can find out more about her. On a sidenote that is TOTALLY unrelated, what is markdown syntax? Thanks

Funny, I didn't see the end of the link I just copy and pasted it... and then I saw it was the article I had already read.

There are probably ways of finding out what her most popular (one might assume that would be her best) selections are...

Although Romeo and Juliet (for example) is one of the most popular Shakespearean plays... but I really don't like it very much, so I hope Pearl's most popular piece is also a very excellent example of her writings.
