Let There Be Light
Every evening around 7pm, people begin to gather at the south west corner of the Olympic Green. It’s not just Beijingers, but out-of-town tourists and foreigners as well. They bring fold-up chairs and boxed dinners. Entire families spread out and chat away as the sun falls. They are all waiting for 8 p.m. on the dot when the lights of the Water Cube flash on, turning the morbid mattress into a postmodern luminescent glory, accompanied by whispered ooh’s and aah’s. It’s a cool thing to do.

yeah~~~~ so cool~~~
