“Atten-shun!” We caught a glimpse of khaki green in the shops in Autumn 2009, and congats if you invested in the khaki military-style jacket then, because you’ll save yourself some jiao in Spring. For those who missed out, not to worry, because there are more than enough for you all. Yes popping up here, there and everywhere are the high streets own takes on the ubiquitous Chloe designs. Chloe rarely gets things wrong, with their ready-to-wear, suit-every-shape chic – Hannah MacGibbon’s third collection at the helm, is obviously fitting in well. Their collection for Spring Summer 2010 made the most of all the earthy tones, with cream cashmere, duffle coats, denim and yes, kahki cloaks and safari dresses. Chloe describes the collection as the ‘romantic traveller’, but I like to think of it as the female Indiana Jones (whip and hat are optional accessories).

So where can you pick up your khaki bits and pieces? Well Mango have a great collection of bleached khaki skinny jeans, military pattern skirts and accessories, as do the new Blouson Noir collection at Lane Crawford (if your credit card can handle it). For those wanting to incorporate something unique, yet stinking of up-to-minute style, march on down to the Army Surplus Shop on Nanluoguxiang.
