Your Beijingologist is off soon to Guangzhou... which is the best excuse ever for not blogging about even the Subway. Still, this morning, 36 hours before he's airborne, the Air China site decided to — well — think twice before letting your Beijingologist check in online. Apparently, Air China's site went into maintenance mode from midnight to 04:00 today, and hard hit this time was online check-in.
This thing is worth a post, by the way, for two reasons:
-
Online check-in will soon be the way to do stuff. First, you avoid those detested queues. Second, you are saved from last-minute traffic delays — you know, those critical seconds...
-
Oh, it's Air China... by the way... we know that the carrier is chronically plagued re: delays. Want the most way-out-there excuse? PEK-JFK flights are sometimes hit with delays up to 24 hours. Reason? "Possible volcanic eruptions"...
Ehh... okkie...
