All Men Are Equal...

And at that, all women are equal, too. Even those ladies and gents (and girls and boys) with disabilities. In front of the law, every human being on the entire planet is equal. This is something that is etched forever in your Beijingologist. (He is a firm believer and advocate of this most equal of all principles.)

And that, too, will be reality over the airwaves. The Beijingologist takes pride in informing the masses through websites in Beijing that a special program for the disabled -- over radio -- will be part of Saturday and Sunday afternoons in Beijing. The program is on air from 13:35 through to 13:55 beginning January 5, 2008. There are about a million disabled Beijingers -- a sizeable audience, at that.

Beijing Radio has "serve the people" written all over its offerings. There's the Public Service Radio, where former Mayor Wang Qishan was once heard apologizing in public. There's the English channel (you may or may not have heard yours truly on the airwaves once; hint: he has a British English accent). And there's the traffic channel, serving those in front of the wheel who serve the people.

A truly harmonious society over the airwaves, methinks.
