Who This Is For: People who, like your Beijingologist, will give anything to ride on the new Subway Lines 8, 10, and the Airport Express

Here's a rundown of what's still missing:

• A definitive opening date. "Before July 20, 2008" is not good enough. The time is now 22:54:25 on July 15, 2008. 22:54:26 is already "before July 20, 2008". (The transit rumor mill, however, is placing bets for July 19, 2008.)

• Station signposts for the bit between Bagou and Jiandemen. (They're already there for the Line 10 bit only -- between Beitucheng and Jinsong.)

• First and last train info for every station. This is crucial.

Here's a little roundup of the fieldwork your Beijingologist's being doing as of late...

• Signpost searching throughout Line 10. Repeated signpost searches, day by day, have yielded results only as of July 14, 2008.

• First and last train info for each station. Your Beijingologist did Jinsong - Bagou yesterday and Taiyanggong - Bagou tonight. No info updates! (This is irritating!)
