Cartographers Take Note: Official Subway Line Color Schemes
We're missing a few — like, say, the Batong Line as well as the Fangshan and other lines slated to open next year — but this is what we have for all the numbered lines plus the Airport Express. It's pretty official, which means that you can drag your Beijingologist off a Subway train and admonish him severely if those colors go — well, off-color or don't live up to expectations...
(Hint: this is ESPECIALLY good news for sites like the Wikipedia, who shamelessly rip off the latest Beijingology Subway icons.)
• Line 1: semi-dark red. Just got a little darker from the Line 1 icons of the past...
• Line 2: faded, dark blue. Note that there's a comma in this. Faded dark blue (no comma) would look a tad different...
• Line 4: Beijing MTR Line 4 teal (or Windows 95 teal).
• Line 5: Girlfriend pink-purple. (Sorry, your Beijingologist went a little off on this one.)
• Line 6: Terra firma yellow.
• Line 7: orange, or as Shanghai's getting Line 7 with the same color earlier, "Shanzhai Shanghai" orange.
• Line 8: solid moss green.
• Line 9: spring grass lime.
• Line 10: dimmed Mac OS X Aqua aqua. (Yep, it must be "Aqua aqua".)
• Line 13: visible yellow. (Officially it's white text on yellow, but we suspect that even fighter pilots can't tell the difference between the two.)
• Line 15: cinnamon-brown.
• Airport Express: "puke purple".
