...or just about fixed.
If you use foursquare, it's now easier than ever if you are checking into city or intercity transit stations. All 147 Beijing Subway stations are now fully covered. You get to check in, by the way, by inputting the name of the station plus "Subway". So if you're popping into Dengshikou, just type in "dengshikou subway" (caps don't matter) and you should be there. If you're Hanzi-based, just do the name of the station with "地铁" in front of it, so that Dengshikou ends up as "地铁灯市口". It should work.
Then check in.
A hint: your Beijingologist gets around via Subway a fair bit... and now via intercity trains as well. By the way, please don't check in at every Subway stop. That's like ruining the game for everyone. Your Beijingologist recommends you check out only when you are leaving the Subway system at a stop. If you're doing a shopping spree at Dawanglu, it's safe to check in when you leave through Dawanglu. Keep in mind that the folks at foursquare are smart, and can prevent you from earning points if you check in a lot. That's like two check-ins within five minutes or so.
By the way, all intercity railway stops have been added, with love, from your Beijingologist. That last outpost — the West Railway Station — now has a proper location (based on the Google Map — not satellite map) — and thankfully, support in both English and Hanzi.
(Yeah — we hear those who want Hanyu Pinyin support. Your Beijingologist was witness, for a brief period in the 1980s, of mum's imported cosmetics with one part of the box written in full Pinyin. We are talking about stuff such as "Zhege weisheng yongpin shihe yixia minzhong shiyong" and stuff like that. "Ni tingdedong ma?"...)
