Line 10 (Phase Two) Works Are Going OK

We've just seen a tunnel boring machine go into a Line 10 (Phase Two) works site, hence signalling that everything appears OK at Line 10. A little status report while we're here...

• Phase Two of Line 10 completes the loop that Phase One started just before the Games. Phase Two will connect Bagou near Zhongguancun West to the huge mall (Jinyuan / Golden Resources) in northwestern Beijing), as well as head for Gongzhufen (where you can flip to Line 1), Yuquanying, and Songjiazhuang, before coming to a close at Jinsong.

• The only 2015 lines that will miss Line 10 will be the Batong Line extension to Line 1, as well as Line 2, 15, and the Changping and Fangshan Lines.

• Finally, Line 10 will feature much easier interchanges — with the sole exception of the Gongzhufen interchange. According to what mass transit civilian experts have whispered to us, don't be surprised if the Line 1 Gongzhufen stop needs to have — massive changes undertaken...
