Line 5 Flooded, Chongwenmen Still Reeling From Recent Deluge
Who This Is For: Subway people going through Chongwenmen station
First, the big news: The Line 5 part of Chongwenmen station was flooded last night. Last night, services on the Mozart Line between Hepingxiqiao and Songjiazhuang were interrupted; as we speak, services are back to normal, but there are still quite a number of problems at Chongwenmen station.
• All escalators at exit D are out of service. You have to walk. Sorry!
• All Automatic Ticket Machines (which double as Add Value Machines) near exits C and D are out of service as well. (It's a good thing the station's still powered by humans!)
• This is probably the most dangerous thing of them all: Platform screen doors are wide open. This is a very real safety hazard!
• Finally, Exit C is sealed. You’ll have to reroute via the Line 2 exits or Line 5 exits A and B.
Please get ready for your inundated arrival...

That's true, Beorn, although I always was one to equate platform screen doors with security. I get uncomfortable the moment I near the yellow line.
Happened to drop my mobile phone on the platform today. Thank heavens miles away from the yellow line. But I was pretty scared already. With a screen door, that fear is pretty much nil (and so, too, are any risks that the tracks will take your falling phone hostage).

Thanks for all the updated, David.
But isn't it funny how not having platform screen doors is a safety hazard; most we've been living without such doors for decades, and most subways still don't have them... I thought they were there mostly to keep the cold air in so you'd have better airconditioning :)
