Presenting the Beijingology Subway Guide
It was a full -- phew, I dunno, nearly eight months in the making, but here it is: the Beijingology Subway Guide. And with the new (version 1.0 P9) Subway map, we're ready to call this -- done.
"Please get ready for your arrival." Indeed. The new Beijingology Subway Guide is based on quite a myriad of new standards -- the best way to make sense of the new articles is if you start on our best model article to date, Dengshikou station on Line 5.
Just about every article has details on where the station is, the nearest exits, and some stations even have details about bus connections. Every station has a photo of the inside and outside of the station. Every Line 8 station (except for the Olympic Green), as well as every Line 10 station (except for Sanyuanqiao), has a photo of the station the way it looks. (We couldn't get access into the system, though, so we don't have interior shots yet.)
Much of the stuff is pretty much shougong, or done. There may be the odd station still running on "old standards", but we'll sweep the rest come May 1st. Hey, we're supposed to be -- international (information) laborers!
Here are a few stops to start with (now that's perfect English!):
• Wangfujing (Line 1)
• Guomao (Lines 1 and 10)
• Dongsi Shitiao (Line 2)
• Qianmen (Line 2)
• Tiantongyuan (Line 5)
• Dongsi (Line 5)
• Wudaokou (Line 13)
• Tongzhou Beiyuan (Batong Line)
Enjoy your trip!
