Seriously, people, who wants to take the Subway to see -- dead people?

But that's precisely what you get when the Changping Line comes to fruition. In the latest plans we've been able to see here chez the Beijingologist, this thing's doing all it can to get close to the folks at the Ming Tombs.

(Will underground/overground Subway services scare the emperors of dynasties gone by?)

Anyway... the Changping Line is slated to start at Huoying. Presently one of the least-maintained stations ever, this very station, presently in Desolate Territory, will be a three-line interchange (a la Dongzhimen 2008 and Xizhimen 2009) with Line 8 (when it heads further north to Huilongguan East) and Line 13 (you know, that weird northern semi-loop that takes you to exotic places up north such as Huilongguan and Lishuiqiao). It then travels along Line 13's trek to Huilongguan before parting ways and heading further northwest.

The Changping Line next heads through Shahe and the Higher Education Park before heading into urban Changping. In there, it meanders west, calling at four stops before heading northwest to the Jingbao Freeway and calling at the Ming Tombs Scenic Spot. It finally comes to an end at its rather unlucky 13th stop -- the Old Beijing Miniature Gardens.

To be reality before 2015...
