The Government Wants To Hear From You

That's right. The Beijing People's Government wants to hear form the Beijing people. (What a pun!)

Yes -- that is correct. If you're fluent in more than a bit of Chinese, you're more than welcome to try your Mandarin at these people by formulating your own two fen on the latest "59 Matters Regarding Population Needs" for the year 2008.

Just write up your bit (in Chinese, of course), stick it in an envelope, and then send it off. The prepaid address label is available in both today's Beijing Daily and Beijing Evening News.

You can also do this by email or via phone; details again in your trusty old Wanbao. Page 1 on the Daily, or Pages 4 and 5 in the Wanbao.

Speak out. And make a difference.

Can you tell us the email address to send our thoughts to? It'll be very interesting to see what opinions the government chooses to air!

jianyi@beijing.gov.cn -- not sure if they do English. Chinese would cut butter and grease oil with these folks. :-)
