Snow Storm Wreaks Havoc on the Jing

Ah, what a way to end that big ole long Spring Festival. Last year, we had The Thing By The Big Pants go up in flames. This year, we've 28 injured and a fair bit of snow. Apparently, we blinked when we saw some clouds flirting around with the moon late last year on Mid-Autumn Eve... a dead giveaway we'll see snow for the Lantern Festival (yesterday).

Here's the casualty count:

Full-scale jams for all freeways and expressways — this morning. Fortunately, they were gone by around 10:30 AM-ish for the Jingtong Expressway heading into the CBD around Dawang Bridge, as your Beijingologist could tell...

63 flights delayed and 8 more cancelled at Beijing Capital Airport. Owch...

29 bus routes doing less ops: those included cancelled routes or routes with limited service.

Hopefully, this snow will soon go away... we've some seriously above-zero temps waiting for us tomorrow...

Oh and by the way: no bad news yet from the Subway today... looks like underground, all was well!
