Don't let the dapper jacket, swanky gloves and stylish tie fool you into thinking that Harrison is an actual Fashionista. He is a bona fide, self-professed “anti-fashion man.” In his very own words, “I don't know where these clothes came from—they are all borrowed.” Perhaps his pipe dreams of becoming a model catalyzed his newfound hobby of copying other people's fashion. To be fair, many a Fashionista has humble beginnings. Even the likes of Baptiste Giabiconi—Karl Lagerfeld’s golden boy—probably had a bevy of borrowed clothes before Mr. Lagerfeld started putting him half-naked in ads (in which, ironically, clothes were no longer necessary). Although a neophyte to the fashion scene, Harrison has a consistent sense of what he likes and doesn't like. “I have always preferred keeping it traditional and very simple. I like to wear black and white and grey and blue.” True to his word, his winter outfit is a somewhat hodgepodge assortment of clothing in these very colors. A former Beijing resident, Harrison came back to the capital from Chengdu late last year for our Fashionista party well prepared for Beijing's chilly weather in a tailored suit, Ferragamo shoes and a boutique overcoat. He accented his look with a Chinese brand tie, scarf and gloves, and topped it all off with a vintage hat co-opted from a friend. “In the wintertime I worry about warmth first and then add whatever flair I can afterward,” he recommends. Perhaps we will see more of Harrison on billboards and bus stops around the city as his China modeling career takes off—but some words of advice from seasoned model Derek Zoolander: “there's more to life than being really, really ridiculously good looking.”
