Blogging Will KILL YOU!
Trying to be a print journalist at the moment is sufficiently uncertain that declaring yourself as one tends to draw the same looks of concern as, say, majoring in dance at Sarah Lawrence. The transition in journalism has been well documented on Gawker, which has reported on a rash of bar closings thanks to the disturbing decline in alcoholism amongst newspaper men.
"The exciting new "journalists" of the internet like to talk about how much they drink and sometimes actually do booze it up with sources and each other, but really their pageview quotas and intense competition usually keep them from becoming true barstool jockeys. The pansy new era of journalism has resulted in a wave of sad bar closures..."
However, it turns out that bloggers are not leading healthy lives either. The caffeine/hot pocket diet of many professional bloggers (coupled with the recent deaths of two) has inspired a New York Times article on the dangers of the profession.

There must be 400% more bars equipped with WiFi these days. Unfortunately, bloggers are too busy checking RSS feeds to drink effectively. They do take a lot of prescription drugs, however.
