Apple Store Opens
China's first Apple Store opened this morning at 10 a.m. to great fanfare. Crowds began waiting in line last night to catch the first glimpses of the gleaming Apple iPods, iMacs and iBooks that now dazzle with intensely colored Apple ads on the store floor.
At a sneak peak for the press on Thursday, Apple's senior vice-president of retail, Ron Johnson, emphasized education and training young people to use Apple products. Except for shelves of a few peripherals, the entire second floor of The Village location is devoted to the Genius Bar, where customers can find free advice and technical support in English, Mandarin and other languages.
Apple has cautiously increased its investment in the Chinese market over the past few years–iPhones are noticeably still absent from the new store–and the store will reach out to young consumers, even offering Apple camps for children.
The new store in The Village at Sanlitun is just the beginning of Apple's retail adventures in Beijing. Johnson announced a number of future openings for Apple, including a new store next year at Qianmen, where it was first reported the Apple Store would be located.
While we're satisfied with the design and service at the new store, we're hoping the much gossiped about Qianmen location will add the architectural sophistication of other Apple Store locations to its brand here in Beijing.

Plus you aren't paying attention to the Twitter Feed below right where it was twittered yesterday

Ooo, twitter. Thx for pointing that out. It's amazing what you crazy kids are doing with technology these days.
The way it's set up now on the home page though is a tad inconspicuous. Also, there's no option to see archived twitter feeds, so even if I wanted to see the the old twitter entry announcing the new subway lines, I can't now. And (just as long as I'm nitpicking) I've got to click twice if I want to see the full entry. So just get your magical team of crack web designers working on that, and all will be right once again in the CW kingdom.

So we get word on the Apple Store opening (which is cool in its own right), but not a peep about the fact that Lines 8 and 10, along with the Airport Line, went live yesterday.
David Feng must be asleep at the MacBook.
