Beijing Weekender :: Fri-Sun, Apr 18-20

FRIDAY
If you've got tickets to James Blunt's sold-out show in hand, you're night is already planned, but the rest of us still have some great options: DJ Magazine's #10, David Guetta will be spinning his world renowned vocal house at Lan at 10, while earlier in the evening, expat blues powerhouse Woodie Alan will rock The Orchard. And, Beijing's current band of the moment, Ourselves Beside Me, will play a not-to-miss show at D-22 with Vancouver's favorite dance band, You Say Party! We Say Die!. And last but not least, Kokomo throws a roof dropping party, hurdling Sanlitun into the heat of the summer.

SATURDAY
Get your Saturday night started in style as the Shanghai Ballet puts on its adaptation of Wong Kar Wai's In The Mood For Love. Or, head to Nanluo Guxiang for the Plastered T-Shirt Summer Launch Party. Punk rockers won't want to miss Bowling For Soup at Star Live. Afterwards, downstairs at Tango, DJ Kiki of bPitch Control Collective spins on three turntables at Tango.

SUNDAY
Spend the afternoon walking through 798, checking out the weekend openings, including Carlos Garaico's exhibition at Galleria Continua. In the evening, be sure to check out either the documentary, Boomtown Beijing at Yugong Yishan or experimental folk rocker Xiao He at D-22.
