The Heat Is On ... Or Is It?
An article in the China Daily this morning tells us that the heat in Beijing was turned on yesterday, two weeks before the official November 15 heat date due to cold weather and man-made snow.
The only hiccup is that in our Dongzhimen flat was freezing last night, and our office on Jinbao Street is no better. Maybe, it's taking a while to get the furnaces warm—or maybe, we're just unlucky?
Has anyone out there had the heat in their building turned on early this year?

Apparently my apartment complex gets heating a week early since there are lots of government officials and various other powerful people who live in the neighborhood. At least that's what my real estate agent told me when I moved in. Still no heat, though. :-P

No heat in the tombschrader lair yet, either. On the bright side, I was able to write "下雪了" too, except instead of on a sidewalk it was on my window.

Me too! No more writing stuff on my window with my nip. . . .fingers! With my fingers, of course. Silly me. What else would I write with?

Not me. I did get a text message from my friend who lives at Yintai center who said the heat had been turned on there. Apparently they employ a trickle down theory of heat here.
