We're not big political watchers here, but we still feel somewhat obliged to report that the ex-American ambassador to China has all but dropped out of the GOP primaries. Cue the howls of the China-watching blogosphere now.
While Huntsman charmed a lot of us in Beijing, he never attracted much attention from the Republican party. Maybe because there was already another rich, white Mormon running for the nomination. Maybe because he actually had nice things to say about Obama. Maybe because he sorta spoke Mandarin (but at least he doesn't speak French). Maybe because Huntsman's political platform wasn't batsh*t insane--we hear the US media hates covering fair and balanced stuff.
C'est la vie. Huntsman reportedly will back that other Mormon for the presidential nomination and the circus freak show that is the Republican primary will continue--although without one of the more thoughtful, serious, and just plain nice candidates.
