All hail the great robo-cat. Chinese money is altogether pretty boring, what with the same guy on every note. But now, Chinese netizens are "claiming" that there a series of six robot cats floating around Mao's head. Check it out:
See it? Yeah, neither do we, although we DO see material for a Great Pink Whale. Nonetheless, the robot cat whispers have been going around the Chinese internet so fast, that Bank of China felt the need to make an official statement that the 100-yuan note does not, in fact, depict robot cats. Pity.
Update: The mystery behind that funky design behind Mao's head has been solved. The pet conspiracy is dead.
