Taxi at your own risk.

Just a warning out there to girls (and boys) taking taxis alone late at night. Had a bad experience tonight in which the taxi driver drove at a breakneck pace down the ring road all the while trying to feel me up with the hand he didn't have on the wheel. Without going into many details, the whole experience was pretty horrifying and I strongly suggest never sitting in the front seat when you're alone and it's late out. Also, no matter what, type in the digits of his ID number into your phone as soon as you get in. As in any major city, the taxi drivers who work late into the night always seem a little bit more unsavory than the ones who operate during the day.

In some places in China women/ladies/girls or any other variant of the human female form are not allowed to sit in the front after a certain time of night.

I think I first encountered that regulation in Xinjiang, but then again maybe my memory is playing me tricks.
