Take spray painting up a notch with this great activity. All you need is a couple of spray bottles, some blank canvases and paint (any type of water-based paint will do). Once you have all your materials, line an area of your house with plastic, old newspaper or an old sheet and stand the canvases on top. Then, fill the bottles with paint and let the kids go to town. CW Tip: Don't have any water-based paint? Acrylic or tempera also work—just be sure to add enough water to keep the mixture from clogging the bottle. You can also make your own paint by mixing together a 1/4 cup cornstarch with 1 cup warm water. A splash of food coloring and you're good to go.
