Quiksliver Nanshan crew is preparing to release ‘Happy Niu Year,’ capping off a tremendous year of snowboarding in the People’s Republic.

While December is still half a year away, the Quiksilver Nanshan Mellow Park snowboarders are gearing up for the end-of-the-year release of the second film by Beijing’s best snowboarders, “Happy Niu Year,” by releasing the film’s teaser.

“I think everyone will be very surprised,” said Olli Fenwick-Ross, head of public relations and media for [Mellow Parks China] (http://www.mellow.net.cn/08mellow/08mellowe/index.asp). “At the moment, China is almost off the radar as far as snowboarding goes, and we hope this film will change that opinion and prove to the world that Chinese can shred!”

Dubbed as the first snowboarding movie of China shot in high definition, the free-to-the-public DVD will feature clips from throughout 2009, including the Nitro Roadwarriors’ 2009 movie, Hotzone at the [7th Annual Red Bull Nanshan Open] (http://www.mellow.net.cn/08mellow/08mellowe/Nanshan%20open.asp), a best of the Nanshan Open, as well as the group’s upcoming Snowboarding New Zealand Road Trip.

According to Fenwick-Ross, the group has more than 20 tapes totaling about 200 minutes of shredding, which will all be condensed into a 20-minute video in the next six months. “We have a good crew that's extremely dedicated to producing a quality, finished product. We've also locked the editor in his room and won't be feeding him or letting him out until it's done,” joked Fenwick-Ross. “It's a new, untested method but should hopefully produce the results we're looking for.”

Mellow Parks is even offering free downloads of the film off its Web site.
