October is beer month in Beijing as City Weekend and Dxcel Partners launch the inaugural Beer Jing Festival. 12 Beijing bars and restaurants have gotten together to issue the official Beer Jing passport starting October 1. Here’s how it works. Drink one of the participating brews (listed below) at one of the venues (listed below) and get a stamp. The first 20 people to collect 8 stamps get into the exclusive Beer Jing party on Thursday, October 29, 7:30pm, at Danger Doyle’s. There you will taste some of the most exotic microbrews the world has to offer (think banana bread beer and chocolate beer). At 9:30pm the party goes public (RMB100 for civilians, free for our Beer Passport champs) and the craft beers flow all night long. We’ll also be giving away cases of beer to lucky draw winners.

You can pick up the Beer Jing passport at any of the participating venues starting Oct. 1. Collect 8 stamps and send it to us by email (scan and send to leemack@cityweekend.com.cn) or send by snail mail (Lee Mack, 58 Jinbao Street, Huali Building, Room 7001, Dongcheng District, 100005) before Oct. 26. You have nearly four weeks tp sample the best beers in Beijing.

Why are we doing this? Because there is more to life than Tsingtao.
