Friday
Pianist Christopher Lier's Photon Quartet updgrades to a full bebop quintet, exploring new frontiers of jazz at the OT Lounge. Experimental folk luminary Xiao He experiments with the folk at The Stone Boat in a rare open-air set. DJ Mag's #13, Markus Shulz, shows us why he should be in the top 10 at GT Banana. The Wudaokou punkers rock out as You Mei You and Steely Heart return to the D-22 stage. Germany's latest minimal tech wunderkinder, Carsten Jost, takes to the decks at Tango. And, experimental electronic music producer Pantha du Prince will throw a feral set of sounds unlike anything Beijing has heard before at White Rabbit.

Saturday
Beijing's clubbers pack into buses at Gongti for a nightlife field trip to Shanhaiguan's Great Wall Beach Party. Those looking to party closer to home chill out at Block 8's own Beach for the club's One Year Anniversary Bash. The sounds of the Ningxia steppe take human form with Buyi's set at MAO Live House. Wordy, Lo-Mang and others bring hip-hop to Yugong Yishan at this month's Section 6 party. City Weekend Reader's Choice for Band of the Year, Woodie Alan, plays an open-air show at The Stone Boat. And, women bid on Beijing's hottest men (including one from Mexico's Olympic Volley Ball team) at the Charity Bachelor Auction

Sunday
DJ Patrick Yu plays another mind-blowing Sundays On Top house set on Kokomo's roof deck. Hanggai brews a kettle of rock with one part Mongolian throat singing, two parts indie folk and three parts grain alcohol at D-22. And, Quattrology Jazz Quartet, fronted by Jessica Meider, returns to the stage of East Shore Live Jazz Café.
