Every Thursday, the Beijing Weekender distills City Weekend's database of nightlife events down to the weekend parties, concerts and live shows that you simply can't miss.

FRIDAY

  • InMusic Festival: Day 1 at Zhangbei Grasslands: The second annual InMusic Festival kicks off with live music across 3 stages, featuring SUBS, China Town, Second Hand Rose and others.
  • Hotpot at Punk: DJ Wordy and friends return for this monthly bash of bootylicious beat juggling, tasty turntablism and fresh-off-the-laptop mashups.
  • Zippo Hot List Night at Yugong Yishan: Lighter fluid won’t be the only thing making sparks at tonight’s Zippo-sponsored show, which features explosive lineup White, Ourself Beside Me, Snapline and Guai Li.
  • The Verse Unplugged at Jianghu Jiuba: Beijing's funkiest 11-piece big band scales it back for a night as an acoustic quartet. Yes, the divine Huang Bo will still be on vocals and Xiao Qi will be ripping it up on saxophone.
  • Ai Wan in Jamaica at China Doll: The Doll returns with its third annual Ai Wan in Jamaica party, featuring DJ Sinvu's reggae sounds and VJ Elephant Team.


SATURDAY

  • S.O.S: Dave DK at Lantern: DJ-producer and former Tresor resident Dave DK released his first beats over a decade ago.
  • For The Love Of Salsa at The One Club: A key part of The Beijing Salsa Festival, this performance and party features a show from top names in the international salsa scene followed by a chance for you to strut your own salsa moves on The One Club's dance floor.
  • InMusic Festival: Day 2 at Zhangbei Grasslands: The second annual InMusic Festival continues with live music all day across three stages. Saturday's lineup includes Twisted Machine, The Bigger Bang and British post-punk legends Killing Joke.
  • Miss Bling at Bling: Girls compete for the crown of Miss Bling and a ¥5,000 Bling card. Put on your most Bling-ed out outfit and strut your stuff.



SUNDAY

  • Sound from Monster at Yugong Yishan: Fusing sounds from rock, trip-hop and pop, the Monster is unleashed.
  • Electric Shadows Monthly Shorts at Penghao Theater: Join film group Electric Shadows for this series of shorts in honor of the Indonesian reform era (1998-2008).
  • InMusic Festival: Day 3 at Zhangbei Grasslands: The curtain falls on the second annual InMusic Festival, with live sets from Chinese disco-rock veterans New Pants, up and coming MC Shuangzi, and international stars Panic! at the Disco and CocoRosie.
