BJ's Top 10 Spots for Open-Air Drinking
Our upcoming issue's cover story is on al fresco dining and the best open-air bites in Beijing. So, I thought I'd propose my Top 10 venues for open air drinking in The Jing.
1. Stone Boat
2. Q Bar
3. The Beach
4. Saddle Cantina
5. Pavillion
6. Suzie Wong’s Moon Terrace
7. Paulaner
8. Obiwan
9. Kokomo
10. Kro’s Nest
Runner Up: The Boat is my pick to become Beijing's venue of the summer. The Boat, which floats on the Liang Ma River just north of Sanlitun is like White Rabbit on a yacht. Though the dance floor is in the inner cabin, I expect to see lots of summertime imbibing on The Boat's fore and stern decks ... not to mention its starboard side bridge.
Other Runners Up: Rickshaw, Houhai Zoo, Pepper and No Name
Anyone else have a favorite place to drink outdoors in Beijing? Anything I miss?

I have trouble telling the difference between a lot of the places in Houhai, but the roof of Nuage is pretty great on a clear day (even if the food is only okay).
Luce/Luna on JiuGuLou also has a really nice roof deck.

Forgot Lugar, which has just opened up its rooftop patio: http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/beijing/listings/nightlife/bars/has/lugar/
