Romantic night
Opened by the Taiwanese couple who owned the Liuli Gongfang, a well-known shop selling colored ornaments, this small restaurant on Chang An Street is eye-catching in the dusk of evening. Eleven tons of Liuli (a colorful and transparent crystal-like material) was utilized in the decor of the restaurant. No wonder this restaurant was named Touming Sikao (literally means "Transparent thinking". Glass walls, mirrors, and Liuli counters and tableware, everything is transparent and shiny. Fusion cuisine that combines Asian with Italian and French style makes up a large part of the menu. The black truffle to-fu salad with house seafood sauce (¥48) is tasty and refreshing. The green vegetable soup (¥45), made from a variety of veggies is disappointingly tasteless and leaves a chalky aftertaste. Tom-yum seafood soup (¥48) is deliciously sour and spicey. The roasted lamb chops with stuffed tomato & gnocchi (¥128) has a strong garlic flavor, and rests in a sweet and salty sauce. Green tea flavored tiramisu ends the night on a sweet note. Lattes are served and for those still ringing in the new year, champagne is also available.
Perfect for: a romantic date
