Family Adventures

Horizon & Co., one of Canada's leading boutique travel companies, launches a series of innovative family adventures. "The concept of our “Family Adventures” is simple: take our renowned itineraries around the world, weave in enriched activities, unique events and learning opportunities for kids and adults and make them available on a private trip basis for families of four or more." says Jennifer Deacon, Horizon's senior trip planner. Trips range from a three day whale watching trip on the mighty St. Lawrence in Quebec (departure on August 10 and August 24, priced at ¥7,070) to an 11 day adventure through India, in search of the elusive tiger (Departure is November 5, priced at ¥39,500). Camel Trek

Trek China Tour is offering a camel adventure in the Gobi Desert. The eight day trek starts with a jeep ride into the Gobi, followed by three days of trekking with camels, meet the desert nomads and sleeping in traditional yurts. This tour is priced at US$999 per person. Trekchina-tour.com

Horse Racing Festival

Join West Adventure Tours to catch this year’s horse racing festival on the best Tibetan grassland. After all the festivities, continue on to explore the origination of the Yellow River (inclusive traverse through Qinghai Plateau to western Sichuan Khamba Tibetan Region), visit ancient Tibetan castle style homes and hike along the valley in the Four Sister Mountain area.
