Mobile technology helps Alvin Wang Graylin, CEO of Shanghai-based mInfo Inc., stay in touch with the world when he's on the go.

Alarm rings, hit the snooze button. Still tired from 18 holes yesterday.
6:07
Finally wake up, turn on the computer and begin downloading email, then go wash up.
6:12
Eat a bowl of cereal while reading/replying to urgent/simple emails while listening to TV news.
6:45
Review itinerary and sync my Nokia E61i and iPhone calendars with my laptop. Traveling to Beijing tonight, so I pack clothes—business casual.
7:15
Dress for work and head to the office, but almost forget my luggage—yikes!
Taxi
7:25
Do a quick SMS check on tomorrow’s Beijing weather via mInfo (958866) from my cell: looks like rain and cooler temperatures. Glad I packed some warm clothes.
Office
7:35
Arrive at the office, grab a cup of water and network in.
7:45
Call our lawyer and a strategic partner in the United States to follow up on some pressing issues before they get off work.
8:15
Prepare agenda for the morning’s management meeting.
8:30
Read status reports from each department head and send questions.
9:00
Do review with my assistant on key follow-ups from last week. Look over new quarterly objectives and prepare edits for the meeting.
10:00
Begin meeting promptly and review last week’s progress and key issues for the week. Have a heated discussion over new product naming/branding strategy, but come to agreement.
12:00 p.m.
Head out for a lunch meeting with a U.S. venture capitalist. He calls me and needs the exact address of Mesa, so I do an SMS search with Guanxi (95882929) and forward result to him in English.
Mesa
12:20
Arrive at Mesa and respond to more emails while waiting.
12:30
The VC arrives. Enjoyable conversation and decent food. He likes what he hears and we arrange for a follow-up conversation after I return from my trip.
Office
1:55
Arrive back at the office just in time to conduct an interview with a candidate for the sales manager position. I ask him to prepare a sample sales plan for our product.
2:45
Review a draft press release for a new partnership and scribble down comments for our public relations manager.
2:58
Need to leave for the airport, but am stopped by the PR manager to sign payment approvals.
3:01
Rush out the door to find a cab for the airport. Luckily one is dropping someone off in front of our building.
Airplane
3:26
Arrive at the airport with four minutes to spare before check in. Rush to the Shanghai-Beijing express counter and ask for an exit row seat. Very lucky, there's one left: yeah!
3:46
Board flight, take out my laptop and edit the presentation for the annual Ad-Tech show on mobile marketing.
5:55
Land in Beijing and turn on phone while taxiing. I receive three SMS messages right away.
The Place
6:15
Throw luggage in taxi and head over to meet the digital marketing director of a leading marketing agency for dinner at The Place. Call the office and respond to more text messages and emails in the cab.
7:02
Traffic isn’t too bad, so I get there just in time (well, two minutes late), but he hasn’t arrived yet. While waiting, I send a message to mInfo and get today's Shanghai stock index numbers: Market is up.
7:14
Mr. Agency Director arrives decked out head to toe in black—very GQ.
8:55
Finish dinner, feeling tired, but still need to meet up with the editor of Red Herring and a couple of tech industry folks at a bar. It's the last meeting of the day, so I throw my luggage in a taxi.
Bar
9:17
Arrive at a very traditional Chinese-looking building with big red lanterns out front and see my friends through the glass windows.
10:45
Have a few too many drinks and bar nuts. Part while the party is still going strong.
Hotel
11:23
Arrive at the Home Inn near our office. The door man recognizes me and smiles.
11:38
All checked in, I put the luggage on the floor and plug in the laptop for charging and email downloads—183 new emails. Ugh. Luckily half are spam and the the rest, I’ve already read on my phone. Read and type quickly.
12:47 a.m.
All washed up, I’m ready to hit the sack. Set alarm on cell phone for 6:00 a.m.
