Wander Gongti Beilu, ask around for the gay bar that’s not Destination, and you’ll be pointed here. It’s only been open for a few weeks, but the buzz has already started and the place is packed on the weekends.
Opened by Destination ex-managers Xiao Long and Charles Ning, the club borrows furniture and music from its sibling, but delivers its own minimalist style. With lots of bare concrete, dramatic lighting and high ceilings, the place is a good alternative to other tongzhimen bars. Bare walls are complimented by a frilly drink list; don’t miss the house special, the rainbow shot (¥35), served up by one of the cute bartenders. It’ll make the nonstop thumpa-thump a little more bearable. With themed parties and an energetic crowd, Cosmo might finally show Destination who’s whose daddy.
