Mall dining just got sweeter
Chinese – Honey Honey

Food courts have come a long way, and actress Gao Yuanyuan has taken the concept to the next level with her new Guizhou restaurant, Honey Honey. Sure it’s in a mall and decorated with stuff from Ikea, but the place is cozy, sporting silver drapes and purple velvet chairs. The food is hit or miss, but fortunately the more interesting dishes were the hits, like the tangyuan (sesame balls) stir-fried in pickled vegetables (¥28) and the xiangmao lemon chicken (¥32). The Guizhou shenglu fried rice (¥18) was both spicy and hearty, perfect for the brave palette, but perhaps overwhelming for others. If that’s the case, the mitang qingcai soup (¥16) makes a great alternative. The menu is in Chinese only, so bring your pengyoumen.
