High-end dining without the high price

This new gourmet kid on the block is situated snugly on Donzhimenwai opposite the Canadian Embassy. The decor is minimalist and funky with black and white tones punctuated with purple highlights. Belgium owner and chef Geoffrey Weckx, has synthesized his passion and flair for cooking into a top-notch European restaurant that caters to the average punter with affordable prices for excellent food. As a starter the artichoke and avocado timable with Alaska crab and hazelnut flavor (¥55) is light and engaging enough to get your attention and have you begging for more. From there the selection of main courses is as extensive as the wine list. The braised pork loin on yellow lentil and bacon with a light five spice sauce (¥98) is succulent and juicy with a good dose of hearty lentils that add texture and substance. Otherwise try the eggplant cannelloni with spinach and ricotta cheese (¥78) which is a delectable feast of creamy soft cheese encased in morsels of aubergine. For dessert don’t go past the warm gratin of fresh fruits with mint flavor (¥35), a truly delicious dish that leaves a sweetness in one’s mouth and heart after a flawless meal.
