Malaysian – Awana

Awana, with a sister restaurant in London, adds a bit of Malaysian charm to the massive neon placards that have come to define Nuren Jie. In a city where well-made drinks are hard to come by, their Dato’s special (¥40), a frothy blend of fruit juices (and a splash of vodka upon request) is deserving of a medal. The appetizer sampler (¥65) comes with a tangy mango and pomelo salad, queen scallops with a crisp, buttery crust, lamb satay with a chunky peanut dipping sauce, fried chicken wings and spring rolls. Do not leave without trying the sweet and spicy sambal ayam’s chicken (¥38). With impeccable service Awana is perfect for a meal with the business partners.
