FILM: The Kite Runner

DIRECTOR: Marc Forster
This tale of betrayal and repentance from director Marc Forster ("Monster's Ball," "Finding Neverland") begins in 2000, when an Afghan emigre returns to Kabul and confronts painful memories from his childhood in the 1970’s. Based on the best selling novel by Khaled Hosseini, the film was shot entirely in the Xinjiang desert and features riveting performances by young Afghani actors.

After reading the novel,I can describe this novel by two words:cruelty and love.Amir comes of age during the last peaceful days of the monarchy, just before his country's revolution and its invasion by Russian forces.More inportantly,we see the love, the strugle to triumph over,to defeat the forces of violence which continue to pose great threat to people's normal life even now.Optimisticly,we see the hope...

The Kite Runner and A thousand splendid suns are all available at Garden Books which locates at 44 Guang Hua Road.Let's read it now!
