Life can be stressful, so check out CW's Top 5 relaxation destinations
1 Zenspa, The Full Experience
Set in a breathtaking traditional courtyard, Zenspa prides itself and succeeds on being a peaceful hideaway from the city. The large private rooms are decorated with a touch of Thai influence. The treatments are professionally administered, not surprising considering they bring masseuses in from around the world. The luxurious setting and impeccable service leave you feeling absolutely pampered. All this does come at a high price though. A one hour body massage will set you back RMB 450.
2 Bodhi, Something for everyone
Bodhi offers numerous decadent ways to relax. The six-story complex includes a bar, a nail shop, a tanning salon, a restaurant, a yoga center and, of course, many foot, body and traditional Thai and oil massage rooms. A one hour body massage costs RMB 138.
3 Spa Oasis, A bit of the Exotic
At this upscale spa, you can choose from Swedish, Balinese and Egyptian style massages or get a hydrobath. Also notable is the addition of a children's play area where your kids will be taken care of while you relax in peace and quiet. RMB 320 for a one hour body massage.
4 I-Spa, Simple but just plain good
Upon first glance, I-spa isn't much to write home about. The Thai style decor is pleasant but not distinctive and the venue only has a few small rooms. But it's not size, it's technique that counts. The Thai massage administered by a Thai masseuse is one of the best in town. It's no wonder this spa is the only in Beijing to be accredited by the Thai Embassy. RMB 398 for a one hour body massage.
5 Dragonfly, Indulgence on a budget
Famous in Shanghai, the first Dragonfly in Beijing lives up to the chain's reputation. It is pure serenity inside, with quiet, dimly lit rooms and a scent of lillies. For the luxurious surroundings, the price is a pleasant surprise. A one hour massage is ¥120. There are a variety of massages which range from Japanese Shiatsu, to aroma oil, post-workout, hangover relief and jet lag relief services. Manicures and waxing also available at reasonable prices.
