Bai Yunfeng

Clown Captain Bai Yunfeng dresses up each day as a clown to deliver flowers for Clown Flower Shop, where he'll be very busy through Chun Jie and Valentine's Day

So how does one become a clown?
I was a fishing gear salesman before, which was a dull life. Then last June, I was watching this show on CCTV called “Story of Wealth” about how people get rich through small businesses, and I saw Mr. Song's clown flower delivery service. I thought it was the right job for me. I joined the team as the second delivery boy, and now I'm the captain of the team of eight clowns.
What's a clown captain’s typical day like?
I go to work in the morning, change into my costume the minute I get to the office, read the delivery orders, then hop on my electrical bike and hit the road.
Don’t people stare at you, a clown on an electric bike, on the streets?
Nine out of ten stare and the other one is blind.
Any other interesting stories?
There was one time this very energetic kid just wouldn't go to bed. His parents called the service demanding the clown make him go to bed at nine. I performed magic tricks until he finally got tired. He listened to me, and his parents never had problems with that again.
Okay. Do you like your life as a clown?
Yes. Seeing so many happy faces everyday makes me a very happy person. Sometimes when I ride the bus after work and think about things happened that day, I just burst into laughter.
