All this week City Weekend serves up the best meals in Beijing for two people for ¥199 or less. The ¥199 cap includes any surcharges but does not include bevvies. Check back on Monday for our Asian selection. By the way, we've already covered American and Euro offerings, as well as the best of Asian selection under ¥199 here, so there is plenty to sample from already.

Modo

Modo, as well as its big brother Mosto, offer one of the capital's most unforgettable lunches at just ¥80 for two courses, or ¥95 for three. We recommend starting with the cured salmon, hard-boiled egg and remolade sauce. Co-owner Chef Daniel Urdaneta is a genius at risottos, so the yellow corn risotto with leeks and brie cheese is a perfect main. For dessert, dig into the mango mousse with white chocolate tuille.

Modo: S10, 3/F, Bldg 8, The Village, 19 Sanlitun Rd, 三里屯路19号Village, Tel: 6415-7207

SALT

The ¥88 per person lunch brings SALT's culinary magic within everyone's reach. The constantly changing menu uses fresh seasonal ingredients for smart, healthy fare that impresses the most demanding tastes. You and your lunch date enjoy two courses for just ¥176. Add a sumptuous dessert for ¥20.

SALT: 9 Jiangtai Xilu, 将台西路9号, Tel: 6437-8457

Migas

With its stunning location atop Nali Patio, Migas astounds with its lunch of traditional Spanish cuisine with a contemporary twist for ¥85. Start with chicken empanada, then try the grilled tuna in mustard dressing for your main. The deal includes dessert: a not-to-miss Catalan crème brulee. Through Feb. 28, get two lunch sets for just ¥85 with online coupon.

Migas: 6/F, Nali Patio, 81 Sanlitun North Road, 三里屯北街81号那里花园6层, Tel: 6417-6095

Alameda

This popular business lunch deal—two courses for ¥68—is a Beijng classic. Start with a seasonal salad, then select one of the daily entrées, which do include vegetarian options. Don't be shy to ask for a second serving of their mouthwatering cheese bread, which comes with all lunch sets. Lunch for two is just ¥136, which leaves room for a glass of wine on promotion for ¥40.

Alameda: Inside Nali Mall, Sanlitun Beijie, 三里屯北街, Tel: 6417-6095

For Alameda, the extra helping of cheese bread is going to cost you 30 kuai... so dinners beware... it's not complimentary...
