An Inspired Idea

How long has INSPIRED been running and what “inspired” you to start the company? We launched in October 2007 but the idea of this platform came up right after I moved to Beijing, when I was struggling with the loss of my professional identity. Many of my friends and acquaintances were finding the Beijing posting quite “confusing” too in terms of their identity. What are your major goals? INSPIRED is a platform dedicated to support the personal and professional development needs of expat spouses in Beijing. We want to help them find a fulfilling personal and or professional project in Beijing. So why take the trouble to network? From my personal experience social networking has made my life in Beijing richer and helped me build some new support networks such as new friends, business partners, inspiring models and other fascinating people. What advice would you give to somebody stuck at home while their partner works? I would like to say that moving to Beijing is a gift. It is chance to reflect on who we are and be involved in activities we feel passionate about. There are too many opportunities in Beijing to stay at home bored.
