WHERE YOU EAT...If You're a biotech fellow

Keith Mitchelson (Australia)
I really like the Secret Garden on Chengfu Lu. The food is fantastic. It's spicy, but really delicious. And I eat a fair bit of spicy food. We are in China, of course. There are a few restaurants down the road, and I go to them sometimes, but this is the best one. When you go inside, it's really modern. But it's not expensive, about 60 to 70 kuai for one person, depending on what you get. I don't know what it's called, but there's a bean dish that’s about 20 kuai. It's string beans with chili, but the oil they cook it with has got this fantastic flavor. And the owner speaks English, so he'll guide you through what you want even if you don't speak Chinese and you don't know what you're doing.

BIOTECH, huh?

Who owns the seed banks you "log" genomes with?

Are you, like Monsanto, in the businesss of patenting plants' genomes-- part of nature-- and waltzing in and suing small farmers who have been farming that particular line for generations?

SEEDS AND PLANTS BELONG TO THE PEOPLE. THEY BELONG TO THE EARTH, TO NATURE--NOT TO BIG AGRICULTURE OR BIG BIOTECH.
