Meet & Greet
We sit down with the ladies of the International School of Bejing's Parent-Teacher Association to find out who they are and what they do.
Deb Davenport: Vice President
“In the three years that I’ve been a part of the PTA, I have gotten to know so many fabulous women: doctors, teachers, managers, even IMF members. Together we have created a foundation for parents to connect and become an integral part of the school community.”
Mehnaz Steeghs Vice President
“As one of three VPs, my job is to organize sponsored events and fundraisers such as Olympic Day. We often have food vendors, activities and all sorts of games and prizes for students to participate in.”
Gabrielle Kerr-Patterson: Newcomer Transition Coordinator
“I work with the school in welcoming new families into the ISB community. I spend a lot of time on the phone and meeting new people ¡ it has truly been a fun experience from the get go.
Roslyn Ravlich: Ex-president
“As the previous PTA president, I'm really excited to see all the changes that have happened this year including guest speakers, the Exploraclub and more. I really encourage others to get involved; the value of being a volunteer is immeasurable.”
Wendy Kwok: Volunteer Coordinator
“I’ve been in the PTA for about a year and the best part is knowing that I’ve made a difference both in the school community and in my children’s China experience. I used to be doctor and to be honest, I don’t miss it at all!”
Lynn Philbee: Volunteer
“As part of the Booster Club, our focus is on enhancing school spirit and supporting all school extracurricular activities, whether it’s athletics or the arts. Most recently, ISB hosted the APAC Basketball tournament, which was an immense success.”
