During the Chinese New Year holiday, I went with my mummy and daddy to England for two weeks. We stayed in the countryside at my grandma’s house, near Windsor Castle. A lot of people in England give names to their houses and my grandma’s is called Kimbers Cottage and was built more than 200 years ago.

This was my fifth visit to England but we still did some sight-seeing. Daddy drove us up to London to visit Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the White Hall, which is British Army Headquarters and is where the guards who protect the Queen stay when she is at Buckingham Palace. As it was too cold to go on the open-top double-decker buses, we traveled around the city in the black London taxis. We also shopped at the world famous Harrods Store; they have a large kid’s section there and I bought a cool High School Musical book with its very own microphone to sing along with.

On another day, we went to Windsor Castle where the Queen usually entertains other kings and queens when they visit. Windsor Castle is the oldest castle in the world and is where the Royal family still lives.

Although there wasn’t much Chinese New Year celebration in England, we still had a really wonderful time as we got to spend a lot of time with Grandma and catch up with all my English cousins.
